Director/Senior Director, Program Management

Seismic Therapeutic™ is a biotechnology company making a major shift in how immunology therapies are discovered and developed, enabled by machine learning. The company has a growing best-in-class and first-in-class biologics pipeline, derived from its integrated IMPACT platform, to control dysregulated adaptive immunity and address multiple autoimmune diseases. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director/Senior Director of Program Management to drive our cross-functional program teams and collaborate with the senior R&D leadership to develop and execute strategy and operations as we head into the clinic for our two lead development programs: a pan‑immunoglobulin (Ig) G protease sculpting (Sc) enzyme program (S-1117) and a PD-1 agonist:Fc gamma receptor IIb selective Dual-cell Bidirectional (DcB) antibody program (S-4321).

Who You Are:

  • A dynamic program director with deep experience in clinical development stage programs with a strong preference for experience with biologics development, immunology therapeutic areas and/or rare disease
  • Passionate about improving the lives of people living with immunological diseases
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and motivate others, reach organizational alignment and manage conflict, including collaborating with scientists and functional experts across multiple levels and working styles
  • Effectively able to communicate complex scientific and strategic topics to variety of audiences
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects
  • Proactive and “roll-up your sleeves” to dive in with minimal supervision and thrive in a fast-paced, fluid environment
  • Excited to help define and embed program management best practices throughout the pipeline and be a coach and resource for colleagues across the organization

What You’ll Do:

  • Achieve key program and critical corporate objectives by partnering with senior R&D leadership to drive cross-functional program teams (Clinical, Preclinical Translation, Manufacturing, Commercial, etc.)
  • Facilitate program team discussions (including documenting agendas, minutes, decision logs, etc.) for cross-functional awareness and decision-making including scenario planning, decision criteria, articulating tradeoffs, and implications on timelines, resources and objectives
  • Develop and be accountable to track integrated timelines, manage milestones and ensure timely communication on key activities
  • Collaborate with functional experts to address issues and challenges, including proactively identifying and creating mitigation/contingency plans for program risks
  • Support development of integrated strategy including articulating long-term product strategies, functional plans and interdependencies
  • Enable effective and consistent performance within program teams including supporting and coaching team members to optimize collaboration and delivery
  • Contributing your expertise to build clinical development capabilities and support business operations as needed across the organization
  • Partner with program management colleagues to ensure consistency, and coordination across portfolio, and establish/evolve best practices and help embed project management into our teams as our pipeline grows and matures

Qualifications:

  • BS in scientific or business-related field required; advanced degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting and at least 5-7 years in program/portfolio and/or clinical operations management with a demonstrated competency with programs in clinical stage, in particular for biologics in immunologic diseases and/or rare disease
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including proficiency in project management practices, project planning, and decision-making
  • Clear communication skills with ability to articulate complex strategic considerations and influence discussions to address challenges and reach decisions
  • Command of MS office suite and project management tools (MS Project/Timeline, ThinkCell, SmartSheet)
  • Experience in both large and small company environments a plus

Senior Associate Scientist

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform protein expression, purification and quality control of fusion proteins and antibodies.
  • Assist in establishing and carrying out a wide variety of essays to assess biochemical/biophysical properties    and develop characteristics of experimental therapeutic molecules.
  • Conduct protein engineering processes to improve the characteristics of experimental therapeutic molecules.
  • Assist in the discovery and optimization of antibodies and antibody components.
  • Conduct routine molecular biology work like closing, PCR, DNA prep, agarose gel electrophoresis.
  • Assist in developing molecules for clinical stage projects and adheres to company timelines.
  • Carefully document research and effectively communicate results to relevant members of the team.
